WikiLeaks. Israel's secret program on harming Turkey, befriending Armenia leaked

A leaked document posted by Wikileaks reveals Israel’s government’s secret strategic plan on disappointing and harming Turkey. The yearly plan prepared by the foreign ministry however entirely focuses on actions towards Armenia and Cyprus, which will arguably lead to the outrage of Turkey.

Along with such traditional actions as putting a resolution on the Armenian Genocide for hearing in Kneset, intensifying short-lived economic ties with Cyprus and Armenia, a number of attractive innovative action items are also included. One of them is a planned Israeli vote, with its highest score of 12 in support of Armenian contestants at the Eurovision and Junior Eurovision Song Contests, both so much cherished in the region and Turkey specifically.

According to the document the foreign ministry is already working with its Geek Squad and preparing an impressive facebook page titled “Piss of Turkey, befriend with friendly Armenians”. To maximize the promotional value of the page, the ministry has mobilized the extensive bot community on payroll at the ministry, in its entirety, including those currently working on online campaigns against Palestinian statehood appeal in UN. Such a massive botmob will allow securing the first 300.000 likes on the page in the first hour of its launch. An identical account will be launched on Twitter.

The document further recommends the government to recognize leaders of political groups with stressed anti-Turkish agenda among Armenians, Cypriots, Kurds and others, with honours and medals. Among the list of recommended recipients are champion turkey haters such as the Armenian Tashnag Party, the Armenian National Committee in Washington DC and non-surprisingly the controversial nationalist Austrian parliamentarian Ewald Stadler from BZÖ party, notorious for his speech in the Parliament that ordered the Turkish ambassador to get into the Orient Express and go home to Turkey.

The Diaspora activists rushed to applause the plan, deciding to ignore the vested Israeli interest of stabbing Turkey in the back. Armenian National Committee’s Aram Hamparian praised the plan and reminded “Turkey’s enemies are our friends”.

The pragmatics in Armenia remain critical, with the exception of the former and current leaders of the parliamentary Armenian-Israeli friendship group. Its former leader Aram Mustache Safaryan praised the Israeli initiative, saying that though it seeks to dissatisfy Turkey, it will however eventually nurture a pro-Armenian tradition within the traditional anti-Armenian political establishment in Israel.
